If you can help with refreshments, please add your name to the sign-up sheet in the Coffee Room.
Food for NEST
Our church will be continuing the commitment to provide meals for NEST. We do this on the fourth Thursday every month. It is time to schedule volunteers for 2026. Three volunteers are needed every month. Please see the sign-up posters on the Mission bulletin board when you enjoy food and fellowship after the church service.
March Book Club
The next Book Club meeting is Thursday, March 5th in the Fellowship Hall of the First Presbyterian Church, Potluck at 5:00 PM and the book discussion at 5:30 PM. If you have not joined us in person for a while, we now bring our own plates, silverware, drink and a dish to share for the potluck.

Code Blue at NEST
During life-threatening cold temperatures (15 degrees in the daytime or lower), DreamTree Project will activate Code Blue operations at the NEST Shelter, expanding services to protect unhoused community members during extreme winter conditions. During this period, the NEST Shelter will expand operations to 24 hours per day, with a maximum overnight capacity of 40 individuals.
In order to activate the Code Blue response, NEST needs YOUR help! They are looking for daytime volunteers to sign up for 3-hour shifts as the second person at the shelter. No skills required – DreamTree staff will handle all direct service and any needed deescalation. NEST staff suggests we bring something to do (a book, knitting, etc.) as there is often not much for the second volunteer to do, but the volunteer’s presence is essential in allowing NEST to remain open.
This activation is part of a coordinated, multi-agency response involving the Town of Taos, Taos County Sheriff’s Office, public safety partners, Taos Office of Emergency Management, and healthcare providers.
Cold Weather Wish List from NEST
With the cold temperatures we’re experiencing NEST is in need of the following:
Handwarmers, hats, mittens, warm socks, warm jackets, safety blankets, tents, sleeping bags, basically anything you can think of to keep people warm. Also, coffee, sugar and oatmeal. You can drop off in the box at church, but the best way to get it to the folks quickly, is by dropping things off at the Dreamtree office behind Albertsons, Monday-Friday during normal business hours. Thank you for everything you’re doing for our less fortunate neighbors.
You can support Code Blue by donating and/or volunteering. Information is available at https://www.dreamtreeproject.org/codeblue. Extreme cold is deadly. Coordinated response and community support saves lives.
Centering Prayer
CENTERING PRAYER is meeting weekly on Wednesdays from 4 to 5 PM at the St James Episcopal Parish, 208 Camino de Santiago, Taos, NM
Mother Mandy at St James has offered to host it, and Ursula Beck will be coordinating thru the statewide Contemplative Outreach Group. They will facilitate learning videos from Father Keating followed by Prayer. All are welcome.
