Church Nursery Worker

Our historic church has an engaged pastor and congregation, welcomes all people, is growing more each year, and needs two part-time Nursery Workers to take care of children ages 3 months to 2 years. We are establishing a new nursery area within the church office building which will be fully equipped by June 1, 2026. This job is a part time job – Sundays, 2 hours 10:15 AM – 12:15 PM.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent,
Current first aid/CPR certification (or willing to obtain)
At least 18 years old with minimum of 1 year of childcare experience
Strong understanding of child development and classroom safety
Ability to work collaboratively in a busy environment with a co-worker
Proven ability to maintain composure and lead in a crisis
Responsibilities:
Provide loving age-appropriate care to children ages 3 months to 2 years
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized nursery environment
Change diapers and assist with toileting
Feed or give bottles, as necessary
Engage with children through play, stories, and music
Follow all health, safety, and sanitation procedures
Communicate professionally and kindly with parents, staff, and co-worker(s)
Arrive on time and remain present for assigned work time
